What’s in my… basic medical kit
What’s in my… basic medical kit. This time the first aid kit I carry with me in my backpack. It’s the Tasmanian Tiger TT First Aid TQ / Medic Pouch. Bright red, recognizable, and filled with a collection of basic supplies for first aid.
I choose bright red over tactical colors to make it recognizable for others if they may need it. It is the same size as my essentials kit and therefor fits perfectly together in multiple of my backpacks. On one side it has a clear pocket, and on the other side it has elastic bands to secure items. On the back it has a Molle hook+loop adapter.
In the clear pocket I have the basic boo-boo stuff such as plasters and wound closure strips. But also two hydrophilic gauze dressings, two non-adherent dressings and one non-adherent dressing with aluminium layer for burns by Van Heek Medical, a soluble hemostatic gauze by Woundclot, and a compressed gauze by H&H. In addition I have and two bags of O.R.S., a vial of HibiCET and a black marker.
On the other side I have two sets of gloves, a rol of tape, a trauma dressing by North American Rescue trauma dressing and a CAT Gen7 tourniquet also by North American Rescue. Behind those items I have trauma scissors and tweezers.
