24-year-old student Communication & Multimedia Design, Climber, Outdoor enthusiast and Freelance Photographer & Graphic designer at Pridex Media
I’m Tim Buitenhuis, a 24-year-old student Communication & Multimedia Design at the HAN University of Applied Sciences.
In 2014 I graduated after a shortened route as a graphic designer at the ROC A12 in Ede. This was for me the reason to go on as a freelancer but I was certainly not finished with my studies. My aim was to study at the HAN University of Applied Sciences to strengthen my communication skills.
But in addition to my studies, I work as a freelance photographer, designer and marketer. My heart is in sport, so this is the place where you will find me the most. With a lot of passion, I work as a sports photographer at various events, from golf and ice skating into offroad rallies.
The passion for sport does not just come around, from my childhood I have always been involved in sports and until this day I can get my energy and satisfaction from the sport. I have shot my bow for ten years in the national top, followed by three years on the mountainbike for national competitions and from today on you can find me with a pair climbing- or hiking shoes.
Commitment is something I attach a lot of value to, every day I’m driven to get the best out of myself and my work.
“Tim Buitenhuis did photo work for us especially around the Olympic Festival (Olympic Experience), but also around other TeamNL events. He does not need an extensive briefing, he can quickly empathize with the wishes and needs of the customer. Is very flexible and can quickly respond to current events. He can capture a story beautifully in an image even in ‘the heat of a game’. In which he sometimes catches surprising corners. Both beautiful close-ups and impressive overviews are in his power.”

“Tim started as a trainee at the KNWU and is now regularly employed on a freelance basis. As a trainee, he was quick to familiarize himself with the ins and outs of the KNWU. Tim works fast, takes a lot of initiative, is decisive, is open to feedback and, as a (young) photographer, produces excellent photography. As the beginning of his twenties, Tim traveled independently to the World Championships road cycling in Bergen (Norway) to provide a part of the photography for the KNWU. This he has also done for the World Track Cycling in Apeldoorn. After his internship, Tim still provides photography for the Wielersport Magazine and Project Tokyo as a freelancer.”
— Jeffrey Kimmels (Dutch National Cycling Federation)
“Tim has photographed several events for us among which the UCI BMX Supercross at Papendal and the WC Para-cycling Track in Apeldoorn. Tim is a passionate and very enthusiastic photographer who is 100% focused on making a unique photo. Tim knows every time to shoot a photo from a different perspective with beautiful light. He thinks along in the process, is very involved and quickly delivers a series of photos so that they can be online.”
— Ellen Heesbeen (The Organizing Connection)
“From my position as communications manager for the Dutch Archery Association, I repeatedly asked Tim to report on archery events. Tim has a very professional attitude and work ethic. He always picks up the briefing effortlessly and always delivers the required and often more! With regard to sports and event photography, Tim knows better than anyone else to capture the crucial moments that are important to me. I hope to use his expertise in many projects.”
— Harm van der Hoff (Dutch Archery Association)
“Are you looking for a professional and passionate photographer, content creator or designer, then as a Tim old teacher, I can wholeheartedly recommend him to everyone who is looking for striking visual material.
During his education, Tim was one of our best. He proves us right with a beautiful and inspiring portfolio.”
