A look behind the scenes of my work
I get asked, times and times again, “what do you do for work?” and most of the time even I don’t know the answer to that. So I tried to write it down.
My work is very diverse, the one moment I’m standing on a square in Utrecht, the other moment I’m standing in the middle of the Sahara or another moment I’m in a sterile space in Lelystad. I have quick and short jobs of a few hours such as specific reports, but also longer jobs where I spend several weeks on the road.
European Beach Volleyball Championships
During the European Beach Volleyball Championships in the Netherlands I was the official event photographer for all games in Utrecht. During every matchday I shot the atmosphere, press moments and of course the competitions from the early morning until the last game in the evening. And certainly at the end of the tournament the challenge becomes bigger (and more fun) to send the images which tell the story as quickly as possible to the server of the CEV (European Federation). Laptop next to the field or under the stands, internet from the hotspot of my phone, burning sun and constant action, that is my work.

Morocco Desert Challenge
A few weeks later I’m 3000 kilometers away from Utrecht in the desert, in the middle of the Sahara to be precise. A much more extreme side of my work where I can only guess when and where I will see the participants on the 400-

Commercial work
I’m not only shooting different kinds of sport events. Besides those jobs I also do more photography work for clients like DaklaPack Europe. The provide the filling process of a lot well know brands like Adventure Food, Remia, 24ICE and many more. A shoot for them is never the same, one moment i’m shooting in the design department, and another moment i’m shooting in a sterile environment.
